Coinbase has added two Ethereum-based altcoins across all platforms. Badger DAO (BADGER) and Rarible (RARI) are now available to Coinbase investors.
The two added altcoins are both legitimate and solid projects with good reputations. However, many people are criticizing them for their strange selection process. Many strong altcoins with a diverse user base such as Tron or XRP are not on Coinbase.
If you are fed up with Coinbase or other exchanges that ask too many personal questions and limit your freedom, you can always visit HiExchange.
BADGER on Coinbase
Badger DAO is a Decentralized Autonomous Organization that allows Bitcoin to be an asset in almost all blockchain network. In that regard, Bitcoin will act as a collateral in any DeFi application.
Currently ranked as 241st cryptocurrency with a market cap of approximately $297 million, BADGER price is around $30. Data Provided by CoinGecko.
RARI on Coinbase
If you are into NFTs, Rarible needs no introduction. The NFT marketplace has been very successful with an emphasis on digital artists and creators’ community. It is a non-custodial platform meaning that it will not at any point, hold the NFT. The only downside is that Rarible only supports Ethereum-based cryptocurrencies.
Currently ranked as 414th cryptocurrency with a market cap of approximately $115 million, RARI price is around $22. Data provided by CoinGecko.
Why not Others?
As one of the select few exchanges legally allowed to operate in the United States, Coinbase has always been controversial with its listings. More than a few times, the exchange has added possible Shitcoins while great cryptocurrencies such as Tron, BitTorrent, Monero, TEL and XRP are not supported on the platform.
If you pay a visit to their Twitter feed, you will find that a vast majority of replies are the users complaining about their lack of support for top-ranked cryptocurrencies. Both BADGER and RARI are not Shitcoins. However, the exchange seems to be in favor of ERC20 tokens. As of now, ERC20 tokens maintain very high transaction fees and are slower than the rest.
All in all, Considering the limited options that US investors have, Coinbase seems to be playing an unfair game by not offering what the investors want.
