World’s First Metaverse Fashion Show on Decentraland

Join us on Social, Beyond the Website

Oh boy, The jokes for this one write themselves. For the metaverse skeptics, here is proof that the future of internet is pragmatic and cool. Decentraland is now officially the first to create a metaverse fashion show. And before you ask, yes, a lot of NFTs are also involved which could easily be yours. Unlike what one might think about a metaverse fashion show, it’s not Max Payne wearing a Fortnite skin or Kratos showing his sick dance moves. Ezio from the Assasin’s Creed will not be runway model and Mario will not be hosting the event. Which is honestly a shame. The show is actually a serious illustration of, well, whatever our future of wearing VR goggles will be. So, accumulate on them metaverse coins because the future is now minted on the Ethereum network.

Metaverse Fashion Show

The virtual gaming marketplace Decentraland known for their native token MANA is set to host the first metaverse fashion show in the world. The fashion week will be available on their platform for four days.

Essentially, the network will host four days of digital runway shows to exhibit NFTs. These NFTs are mostly AI fashion and “wearable tech” designed by some of the foremost fashion brands in the world. Tommy Hilfiger, Selfridges, Cavalli, Eli Saab, Vogue Arabia, Guo Pei and others will be showing their latest designs.

Decentraland’s creative director Sam Hilton told the press that the demand for digital clothes is booming.

“Fashion and haute couture are not new to the metaverse. Decentraland has been on the cutting edge of rare and in-demand digital fashions since the launch of avatar wearables in 2020.

Since that time, creators have been pushing both the technical and stylistic limits of Decentraland wearables, and have created a booming economy with over $1 million in sales of avatar wearables last year.”

Lately, Decentraland developed a new Luxury Fashion District in which the show will featured. According to the network, there will be a futuristic-looking catwalk, pop-up metaverse shops and afterparties.

MANA Go Boom?

Currently, MANA is trading at $2.71 and is up 17% for the past 30 days. Frankly, it is tricky to predict whether this event will positively affect the value or not. The event will run on March 24th.

However, from an aesthetics point of view, it would be quite interesting to see some of these creations. Primarily, the designers are literally free to implement whatever they have in mind with these NFTs since sky is the limit. Despite the massive marketing efforts, the core concept of this event is not revolutionary at all. Yet, at least on paper, this will be our first ever metaverse fashion show.
